Contract types - while actors need to be available for both productions, each production is a separate contract:
CSC - SPT 5 - weekly minimum $538
Folger - LOA LORT – weekly minimum $735
NOTE: For all actors we are looking for creative, collaborative actors, with a strong sense of who they are. Willing to play and improvise. We are viewing characters through an expansive lens in terms of age and race/ ethnic background.

OPHELIA - 18+ able to play 16, musical ability a plus, we are looking for an expansive idea of who she could be. optimistic artistic musical young woman who grew up in this castle. Her father works for the king. Knows what is expected of her, but still driven by hope, passion, and love. Global majority strongly encouraged to submit! GERTRUDE - late 30’s - 50s, the goddamn Queen of Denmark. Actor with strong sense of self and point of view, maternal in the mama bear sense. “I’m every woman”. Cool and gorgeous, but as the play goes on, exposes their anxiety, burden and fear. Global majority strongly encouraged to submit! SEEKING ONLY CINCINNATI OR DC LOCAL HIRES AT THIS TIME.
ANNA- 30-50’s, Ophelia’s lady's maid, grounded, musical ability a plus. nurse, guardian. Been with her for her whole life. Smart, calm, protective. Global majority strongly encouraged to submit! SEEKING ONLY CINCINNATI OR DC LOCAL HIRES AT THIS TIME.
STORYLINE: In this parallel retelling of HAMLET from Ophelia and Gertrude's perspectives, the focus shifts to their emotional journey amidst the chaos of the Danish court. Ophelia’s narrative begins with the blossoming of a secret romance with Hamlet, filled with promise and youthful passion. As the court's intrigue deepens, Ophelia and Gertrude finds themselves ensnared in a web of political machinations and familial expectations, struggling to maintain power and agency.
